KAYOU is introducing a new steel shelving rack with wheels, bringing together a black steel storage structure, a caster-mounted base and a compact packing format for bulk supply.
Each complete shelving unit is supplied in two packages. With smaller packing volume as a development priority, the new product gives importers and distributors another option when planning storage products, inbound shipments and local inventory.
The accompanying KAYOU photographs show the assembled rack from the front and side, together with close-up views of the shelf undersides, panel surfaces and caster connections. They provide a direct look at the product details behind the new release.
IN THIS GUIDE
One Shelving Unit, Two Packages
Packaging is an important part of a steel shelving purchase. Buyers need to know how the product will arrive, how much space the complete set occupies and how its parts will be identified during receiving and assembly.
KAYOU’s new wheeled shelving uses a two-package format with a smaller packing volume. For buyers comparing supply options, this makes the combined packed size an important part of the quotation.
The purchasing unit and the package count should be recorded separately:
| Order item | Packing arrangement |
|---|---|
| One complete shelving unit | Two product packages |
| Example order of 100 units | 200 product packages, before any palletization or additional shipping units |
| Volume used for comparison | Combined outer volume of both packages per unit |
| Receiving reference | Both packages matched to the same model and complete set |
A useful labeling plan is to mark the two packages “1 of 2” and “2 of 2,” alongside the model and order reference. This helps distributors keep complete sets together through receiving, storage and dispatch.
The photographs in this update show the assembled product. Request the packing photographs and final package measurements with your quotation to review the shipping arrangement as well.
What the Product Photographs Show
The new rack has an open front, black steel components and caster wheels at its base. The side and detail views reveal several features that buyers can examine before discussing their own configuration.
| Visible detail | What buyers can review |
|---|---|
| Perforated upright posts | Beam connection positions and the proposed shelf arrangement |
| Horizontal steel beams | Frame layout and shelf support configuration |
| Side diagonal bracing | Bracing placement within the assembled frame |
| Separate steel shelf panels | Panel joints, surface finish and how panels fit within the shelf level |
| Reinforcing details beneath the panels | Underside construction and the support arrangement |
| Caster mounting connections | How the wheel assemblies connect to the shelving base |
These original product photographs give buyers more information than a single front-facing catalog image. The underside view, in particular, makes it possible to discuss shelf construction using the actual product as a reference.
For specification approval, the photographs should be reviewed alongside the final drawing, component list and quotation. Dimensions, material thickness, load ratings and the supplied shelf configuration should be confirmed for the ordered model.
Why Compact Packing Matters to Importers and Distributors
A smaller packing volume can be valuable at several stages of a bulk order. The benefit should be assessed using the completed packing specification and the buyer’s delivery route.
Planning inbound shipments
For shipments constrained by available space, compact packages can help buyers use that space more effectively. The final loading quantity still depends on package dimensions, weight, stacking limits, protection and the loading arrangement.
Managing stock before assembly
Where units are held in their shipping packages, reduced packed volume can help distributors plan inventory space. A complete-set labeling system also makes it easier to identify the two packages that belong together.
Preparing local deliveries
The dimensions and weight of each package help buyers select suitable handling and delivery arrangements. Confirm both packages individually, particularly where local carriers apply limits to package length, weight or handling method.
Comparing complete purchase costs
Ask suppliers to quote the product, packaging and delivery scope clearly. Freight savings should be assessed from actual packing data and a current freight quotation; a smaller volume does not by itself establish the final delivered price.
For related purchasing checks, see KAYOU’s export packaging guide for knock-down steel furniture.
How to Compare the Two-Package Shipping Volume
When requesting a quotation, ask for the outer length, width, height and gross weight of each package.
If measurements are supplied in meters:
COMBINED VOLUME / ONE COMPLETE UNIT
CBM per shelving unit = (Package 1 length × width × height) + (Package 2 length × width × height)
If measurements are supplied in centimeters, divide each package’s length × width × height by 1,000,000 to obtain cubic meters, then add the two results.
Use the combined volume of both packages when comparing offers. Where pallets or other outer packing are required, use the final shipping-unit measurements for transport planning.
A container loading quantity also needs to account for loading geometry and weight restrictions. Request a loading plan for your order rather than relying only on a theoretical CBM calculation.
Steel Shelving with Mobility Built into the Configuration
The photographed rack is fitted with casters, allowing mobility requirements to be considered alongside the steel storage structure. Potential applications include workshop supplies, warehouse stockrooms, retail backrooms and other storage areas where repositioning is useful.
When specifying your order, explain whether the shelving will be moved empty or with goods on the shelves. Confirm the applicable shelf load, overall rack limit, caster specification and any permitted moving load for the complete configuration.
The caster mounting detail shown in the photographs is a useful starting point for this discussion. Wheel size, brake arrangement, floor condition and movement route should be agreed with the supplier before ordering.

Prepare the Product and Packing Specification Together
For this new product, KAYOU recommends discussing the storage requirement and the shipping arrangement in the same inquiry.
Send the following information:
Required overall width, depth and finished height, including casters.
Shelf quantity, shelf spacing and stored-item dimensions.
Required load per level and maximum total goods weight.
Whether the unit needs to move while carrying goods.
Floor conditions, route restrictions and brake requirements.
Preferred color, order quantity and destination.
Labeling, assembly instructions and packaging requirements.
Ask the quotation to identify the contents of both packages, their outer dimensions and gross weights, and any separately packed accessories. This gives the purchasing team a clearer basis for checking the complete order and arranging delivery.
